About the Job
Title: AI Stack & Automation Intern - Skyhawks Sports (Treasure Valley)

Small businesses that use AI well in 2026 will run circles around the ones that do not. We want Skyhawks to be one of the ones that do under good stewardship. We are hiring an AI Stack & Automation Intern to help us build the systems that let a small team serve thousands of families across the Treasure Valley without dropping the ball on any of them.
Skyhawks Sports runs youth sports programs across 7+ cities. Behind the scenes is a growing operation with a lot of moving pieces: registrations, coach onboarding, parent communications, review requests, content pipelines, reporting, and more. This internship is for a student who wants to spend a semester building AI-powered automations that would require a budget for a small business.

We do not have the luxury of having the budget at this time, but we know there is someone out there waiting for the opportunity to showcase their skills while aligning with our mission.

THE ROLE:
You will design, build, and ship real automations that our team uses every day. You will not be doing homework problems. You will be shipping systems that touch real parents, real coaches, and real revenue. Every automation you build is a portfolio piece and a resume story. Efficiency and time returned means more kiddos impacted!

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Build automations in tools like Zapier, Make, n8n, or custom scripts using the Anthropic API or OpenAI API.
  • Design workflows for review requests, parent welcome sequences, coach onboarding, and registration follow-ups.
  • Build a content repurposing pipeline (turn 1 field video into short-form clips, captions, email content, and Google posts).
  • Set up internal dashboards and reporting flows for leadership.
  • Document every system you build so the team can maintain it after you graduate.
  • Bring ideas we would not have thought of on our own.
  • Consult on current processes and improvements that automate, save time and/or efficiency.

YOU'RE OUR PERSON IF:
  • You are currently enrolled in a college or university program (college credit preferred).
  • You are studying computer science, information systems, data science, business analytics, or a related field (or you are self-taught and can prove it).
  • You already tinker with automation tools, LLM APIs, or no-code platforms in your free time.
  • You can read documentation, break things, and figure it out.
  • You communicate clearly with non-technical teammates.
  • You care about building things that actually get used.
  • You can track holes in leads and improve customer acquisition/retention.

WHAT YOU'LL GAIN:
  • College credit for an accredited internship experience.
  • A portfolio of real production automations you designed and shipped.
  • Genuine experience integrating AI into a small business operation, which is one of the most in-demand skill sets in 2026.
  • Mentorship from leadership on business context and prioritization.
  • Full ownership over your build stack.
  • Flexible hours around your class schedule.
  • A letter of recommendation for standout contributors.
  • The rare feeling of watching your code touch thousands of families.

DETAILS:
  • College credit.
  • 6 to 12 hours per week, flexible scheduling.
  • Remote friendly.
  • Start date flexible.
  • Free or reduced program rates for intern's family.
  • Small stipend available, commensurate with experience and contribution.

TO APPLY, email boise@skyhawks.com with:
  • Your college and major.
  • Whether you can receive college credit.
  • Any automations, projects, or scripts you have built (even personal ones).
  • A short description of one process at a small business you would automate first and how.
  • Why this role interests you specifically.
  • What is the most important thing in your life.

Skyhawks Sports - Boise opened up in April of 2022 with owners Levi & Jordan. After Levi decided to separate from the Air Force, he liked the idea of running a business, working with the kids, and the community. Fast forward to now, Skyhawks has consistent year-round classes and camps throughout various parts of the Treasure Valley, with an increasing need for family programs.
